The Cliffs of Moher is such an iconic location with outstanding beauty, perfect for elopements, engagement photos or proposals! I was lucky enough to visit to photograph Caitlin and Doug, who came all the way from Detroit just to see it! We braved the wind and rain as we walked towards the iconic view, I may have even fell and got hit up the face by an umbrella, but all worth it for the adventure!
I found a secret entrance at the very back of the cliffs, where you can skip the visitor centre and enjoy a quieter walk with no other tourists which would be perfect for elopements! There are also some smaller cliffs and unique views including a tower before the Cliffs of Moher which we were so happy to see!
I recommend when you visit the Cliffs of Moher for your engagement photoshoot, to bring layers as it can be freezing! If you wear flowy garments you may get a lot of windswept photos (super moody and fun), but make sure you are comfortable and prepare yourself for the good ole Irish weather!
As for FOOD (super important), we went to McGann's bar in Doolin to warm up and get some grub and let me tell you, it was some of the nicest home-made style food I have ever had. You will be spoiled for choices when it comes to authentic Irish pubs in this area! They are all so cozy and the atmosphere is always buzzing! I recommend Danny Mac's for a good Irish breakfast. They also serve pancakes with stewed apple inside which was a huge hit.
