Laura & Brady

Can you imagine choosing to elope in Northern Ireland, a place known for it's crazy (cold and wet) weather, only to have the hottest and sunniest recorded day in September - transforming the coast into what looked like a greek island?

Laura & Brady travelled all the way from Utah to elope on the Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland in September 2023.

They wanted their elopement day to be adventurous, as their favourite things to do together are hiking, exploring new places and travelling, so it came as no surprise to me when they booked a private boat tour for after their ceremony. Leading up to their elopement we had to account for bad weather, as it's not uncommon for certain activities to be cancelled due to high winds and rain, especially in the sea!

The day arrived and I got to their airbnb. The sun was beating down and the sky had this gorgeous glow about it. I have shot at their Airbnb twice before, situated on a large garden with a pond, and I had never seen it look so lush and green! I knew the perfect spot for their first look would be under the gazebo, offering them a bit of shade to enjoy their moment. I remember Laura's dress sparkling in the sunlight as she walked towards the first look spot, it reminded me of cinderella's dress from the animated original!

We packed up after the first look & headed straight to Kinbane Head, where we met with their celebrant and walked down to their ceremony spot right next to Kinbane Castle. From here we could see the cliffs and the sea, which due to the sun was super hazy and a gorgeous blue colour. They opted for a hand-fasting ceremony & exchanged personal written vows. After their ceremony, we noticed a tour boat approaching below us and they even celebrated with Laura and Brady by congratulating them!

We travelled to Ballycastle next, to have a quick bite to eat and a guinness, before heading to the dock to get on their private boat for a tour of the coast. They were able to see their ceremony spot from the water, a unique view that most people don't get to see! After some time on the boat and anchoring near Carrick-a-rede, they got changed into their swimwear and jumped into the sea for a quick dip to cool down!

Once we got back to shore, we headed to The Dark Hedges, our last stop before they would head back to their Airbnb to dig into their wedding cake and wind down in their private hot-tub!

Here's what laura and brady said about their elopement day:

"We knew eloping in Northern Ireland was for us after coming across Caragh's work on Instagram. Her work is filled with creativity, emotion, and adventure! All the things we could have hoped for in our own elopement. When looking back at our gallery she exceeded all of that and more! So many beautiful moments captured and many that we had forgotten about, which made memories flood back to us. Caragh is truly such a gem and helped us plan a wonderful day. All of her recommendations were amazing and she pieced everything together perfectly. The whole day felt like a fairytale and we would highly recommend Caragh to anyone looking for an incredible photographer/friend!! Eloping in Ireland and having Caragh there to capture it all was the best decision, her talent is unmatched, and we would do it all over again!"
